Meet Malcolm Nance
Malcolm Wrightson Nance is a former career US Naval Intelligence specialist in the fields of cryptology, counterterrorism, and information warfare. He was an advisor to the U.S. government’s Special Operations, Homeland Security, and Intelligence agencies. Over the past four decades, he worked as an Arabic-speaking expert in the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Balkans. He is the author of nine books, including five New York Times bestsellers. Mr. Nance frequently comments on geopolitical issues in broadcast, radio, and print media. He was an MSNBC contributor with well over a million followers on social media.


He is on the Board of Advisors at the International Spy Museum in Washington DC, where he was honored as one of the Noteworthy African Americans in American Espionage History.
Malcolm is the author of ten books, including The Terrorist Recognition Handbook, The Terrorists of Iraq, An End to al-Qaeda, and Hacking ISIS: Inside the War Against the Cyber Jihad. He had five New York Times Bestsellers in a row, including Defeating ISIS, Plot to Hack America, Plot to Destroy Democracy, Plot to Betray America, and They Want to Kill Americans. He is presently in the final stages of delivering his memoir Thinker, Sailor, Blackman, Spy (Codebreaker, Patriot, Widower, I): A Memoir of an Intelligence Warrior. To be released in Spring 2025.
In February 2022 Mr. Nance left MSNBC to join the Ukrainian Army’s International Legion for the Defence of Ukraine and worked in the Ukrainian Military Intelligence directorate (GUR), the 1st Battalion Legion (Infantry) and 3rd Battalion (Special Operations). He was deeply involved in combat and intelligence operations defending the Ukrainian people against the Russian aggression for over 10 months. A native Philadelphian he is a vocal public advocate for defending democracy worldwide. Mr. Nance adds a significant voice to the global campaign to stand for the democratic order and against the spread of autocracy.
